How it was done

Designing a premium digital platform for founders entering the UK market.

Novaen Corporate helps founders around the world establish and launch businesses in the UK.

The service goes beyond company registration. Novaen brings together company formation, banking support, registered office services, domains, professional email, website development, and ongoing compliance into a single managed experience. (Novaen Corporate)

The design challenge was therefore bigger than creating a polished corporate website.

We needed to make a potentially complicated process feel clear, credible, premium, and surprisingly simple.

The central idea became:

You’re not just registering a company. You’re establishing a business.

That principle shaped the brand, interface, information architecture, conversion journey, and underlying content system.

01

Defining the Brand Position

Company formation is inherently formal.

For international founders, it can also feel intimidating. There are unfamiliar processes, documentation, legal obligations, banking considerations, and decisions that need to be made before the business can properly begin.

Novaen needed to communicate authority without becoming bureaucratic.

We developed a positioning centred around sovereignty — the idea that establishing a company gives a founder greater control over their business identity and future.

This led to a brand personality that feels established and premium, but still modern and founder-focused.

Rather than presenting Novaen as another registration service, the website positions the company as a single point of contact for the entire UK launch journey.

That positioning is reinforced directly through the website’s messaging: one place, one process, one point of contact. (Novaen Corporate)

02

Turning a Complex Service Into a Simple Experience

One of the core UX challenges was information density.

Novaen offers multiple services, including business formation, bank account setup, registered office services, custom domains, professional email, website development, and annual compliance support. (Novaen Corporate)

Presenting all of that at once could easily make the website feel like a catalogue.

Instead, we structured the experience around the founder’s journey.

The homepage introduces the larger proposition first:

Launch your business in the UK.

The individual services then appear as components of that larger outcome.

This creates a shift from:

“Here are the things we sell.”

to:

“Here is everything you need to get established.”

The difference is subtle, but strategically important.

03

Building a Visual Language Around Sovereignty

The visual system was designed to feel premium without relying on conventional luxury clichés.

The colour system uses proportion rather than decoration.

60% — Warm Ivory

#F4F1EA

The dominant surface colour. Softer than pure white, it creates a tactile, editorial quality that makes the interface feel closer to paper than a conventional digital dashboard.

25% — Midnight Obsidian

#0D0F12

Used for primary typography and dark sections.

10% — Graphite Slate

Used for cards and secondary interface surfaces.

5% — Sovereign Gold

#B08D57

The defining accent.

Gold is intentionally scarce, appearing primarily in labels, links, highlights, and moments requiring emphasis.

This creates visual hierarchy without relying on excessive colour.

The result is a restrained system where the smallest details carry weight.

04

Typography as a Brand Asset

Typography was treated as one of the primary components of the identity.

Satoshi handles large headings and display typography, providing a geometric, contemporary character.

Inter handles body copy and interface elements, prioritising clarity and readability.

The combination creates a balance between personality and practicality.

The type scale is fluid using CSS clamp(), allowing headings and typography to scale continuously between mobile and desktop rather than jumping between fixed breakpoint sizes.

This keeps the brand feeling intentional regardless of viewport.

05

Designing the Conversion Journey

The website isn’t designed simply to provide information.

It is designed to move a founder from curiosity to action.

The primary call to action is the free consultation.

Instead of forcing visitors immediately into a purchase decision, the experience explains the proposition, establishes credibility, presents the packages, answers common questions, and then creates a low-friction path into a conversation.

The contact journey itself is broken into three simple steps:

Submit the form.

Novaen makes contact.

A free strategy call maps the setup journey. (Novaen Corporate)

This makes the next step feel concrete rather than ambiguous.

The site also communicates practical reassurance through prominent service promises such as an under-seven-day average setup time, a fully remote process, a response guarantee, and transparent pricing. (Novaen Corporate)

06

Packaging Complexity Into Three Offers

The pricing architecture became another important part of the UX.

Rather than presenting an overwhelming list of individual services, Novaen packages its offering into three levels:

Establish — a foundational UK business setup.

Launch — a more complete managed launch with a stronger digital presence.

Sovereign — a bespoke service for founders requiring deeper brand, strategy, and digital support. (Novaen Corporate)

This creates a natural progression without forcing every visitor to understand the entire service catalogue before making a decision.

The packages effectively turn a complex operational service into three understandable starting points.

07

Designing for International Founders

The website needed to communicate that Novaen is built for founders who may not already understand the UK business environment.

The service proposition therefore extends beyond registration.

Novaen supports founders with registered office services, banking referrals, professional email, domain setup, website development, and ongoing compliance. (Novaen Corporate)

This allows the website to communicate a broader promise:

You don’t need to coordinate five different providers to get established.

One service can manage the foundation.

That became one of the strongest narrative themes throughout the experience.

08

Designing for Findability

Because Novaen is a marketing-led business, SEO was treated as part of the product architecture rather than an afterthought.

The site incorporates route-level metadata, canonical URLs, Open Graph information, structured Schema.org data, breadcrumbs, and a dynamic sitemap.

The fallback HTML content also ensures that the core site information remains accessible when JavaScript is unavailable, supporting accessibility as well as search-engine and AI crawler discoverability. (Novaen Corporate)

The principle was straightforward:

A beautiful website that nobody can find is an expensive brochure.

For Novaen, discoverability had to be designed alongside the interface.

09

Content as a System

Novaen was designed to grow.

Rather than treating every page as an isolated piece of content, we structured recurring content around reusable data models.

Authors, blog posts, and job listings can be managed as structured records rather than individually hardcoded pages.

This allows the visual system to remain consistent as the company publishes more content.

New articles inherit the established layout.

Author information remains consistent.

Job listings can be added without creating new page structures.

The result is a marketing platform rather than a static website.

10

Responsive Design

The experience was designed to maintain its hierarchy across screen sizes.

Large typographic compositions collapse naturally.

Navigation transitions into a mobile-friendly menu.

Service and package sections adapt their layouts without losing their hierarchy.

Large editorial spacing is carefully reduced on smaller screens rather than simply removed.

The goal was to preserve the character of the desktop experience while making the mobile experience feel intentionally designed.

11

Motion With Restraint

Motion exists to guide attention.

Content uses controlled reveal animations as visitors move through the page.

Navigation transitions smoothly between transparent and frosted states.

Mobile navigation uses measured height transitions.

The interface also respects prefers-reduced-motion, reducing animation for users who request it.

Nothing moves simply because it can.

The rule was:

Interaction should clarify the experience, not compete with it.

12

Building for Longevity

The underlying design system was built to support Novaen beyond launch.

Typography, colours, spacing, interaction patterns, content structures, and responsive behaviours work together as a reusable system.

This means the website can evolve as Novaen introduces new services, publishes more content, expands its offering, and develops its relationship with founders.

The objective wasn’t to create a website that looked finished.

It was to create a digital foundation that could keep working as the business grows.

13

The Outcome

The final Novaen experience transforms a potentially complicated business-formation process into a clear, premium digital journey.

It communicates what Novaen does quickly.

It makes a broad service offering easier to understand.

It gives founders clear pathways into the appropriate package.

It establishes credibility through visual restraint and structured information.

And beneath the surface, the technical architecture creates a foundation for SEO, content publishing, accessibility, and future growth.

Most importantly, the website changes the emotional framing of the service.

Company formation can feel like paperwork.

Novaen makes it feel like a beginning.
